Anita McDonough | An Independent Graphic Designer

I grew up in the small town of Kieler, WI and from a very young age it was obvious to my folks that I had a passion for art. I was introduced to graphic design in high school and never looked back. I attended UW Whitewater where I met my now husband (Patrick), of 20+ years, who too was a Graphic Design major. I graduated from UW Whitewater with a BA in Graphic Design and an Advertising minor. That degree led me to Rockford, IL were I became an Art Director for a B2B advertising agency for six years.

After agency life I became an Independent Graphic Designer and a mother of two little girls: Ella and Lucy. For the past sixteen years I've had a wonderful balance of a having career and being a mother, however there are days I can't wait to jump back onto my computer and create. Design and advertising are popular topics in our home with my freelance business and my husband being Creative Director at Quiet Light Communications. This explains a lot when our five year old received "Future Artist" on her Preschool diploma, now 16 going on 18. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
